Guitar pick jewellery

Many, many years ago (about 2005), looking at my small collection of guitar picks, I picked up the ugliest purple one (it was old, and had a few scratches on it), and decided I’d try and make a necklace out of it. I spent an hour poking a hole through the top with a safety pin, before I found a small metal ring to wire through. Hanging it on a chain, I thought it was rather plain. I found a fishbone charm that I had ripped off an old shirt I owned when I was six, and attached that on.
Five years on, I have the same necklace, and I still wear it every day. The only time I took it off was when I had ballet exams or for my school formals/proms.
It's my signature piece, I guess.
Today I found my collection again and decided, out of boredom, to create something new. Lately I’ve been desiring necklaces which are longer. I haven’t yet found a chain for this buddy, but this is what I derived (eventually) with a blue pick, star charm and black safety pin.
I won’t be wearing this all the time though – the safety pin could come undone and poke me.
