I got bored. These things are fun, even if they are tacky.

Bleeding Knees Club write the simplest music, the same time signature, same chords, but have drawn this ridiculous array of fans that spew insanity at each show. I was standing near Jordan the whole time. I also blame GoodGod for having such ghastly lighting — yet, I find similarities between Jordan and, you know, that photo of Kurt Cobain, you know, that one, with his back to us, with his guitar. This first photograph I feel illustrates that moment so well.
I feel like my lack of good equipment is not to blame, and cannot be blamed; my photographs effectively communicate what the hell Bleeding Knees Club is. Who gives a shit about blur, about black and white, about dullness, graininess. This rough, edgy, kind-of-lacklustre texture is BKC in essence. It’s freaking beautiful.

This was really, really delicious. Lots of vegetables indeed!

Only the most unique, eco-friendly packaging for an EP that you’ve ever seen!

About time I got a new pair. I was using the ones that came with my old phone, and one of the earbuds just stopped working. I bought these from the co-op bookshop.

James got me a bunny mug.

March of the Real Fly released an EP on Friday. You can check it out on Bandcamp for free. There are also a limited number of hard copies. They come in a cardboard sleeve with fully sick album art.
Also check out OXBLVD (and remember that their band name is pronounced “Ox Blood”) and Sheppard, two local acts with some brewing talent.

I hate The Backroom because its phone reception is just atrocious, but it’s a really intimate venue, and on the negative side again, it has bad lighting. However, I had the chance to photograph rock band Regular John, who have a deep, aged (in a good way!) sound to them. These guys know what they’re doing and last year released their album Strange Flowers.

These guys were a ton of fun last Sunday — finally got around to sorting out the photos I took. Light was obviously on my side. Check out the band’s latest single Endless Sun, which is Beatles (Sgt Pepper era) meets Hendrix. Really rich stuff.

A couple of shots of this rock band, Jacobide, from the Hills area (Sydney). I saw them last week at Village Festival. I love bands from the Hills area, because I only live twenty minutes out (I have friends who live there too) and bands from there tend to be pretty rad.
